Appearance
Amina is a compact human woman with a watchful, almost weightless way of moving. She seems to arrive beside a table rather than walk toward it, keeping her shoulders narrow and her hands loose at her sides. Within a minute of meeting her, most people notice the tiny pause before she speaks, as if she is first listening to the room's floorboards, breathing, and pockets. Her smile is quick and apologetic, but her laughter often escapes at precisely the wrong moment: during threats, funerals, accusations, and once during her own arrest. She has a long, pale birthmark shaped like a river delta along the inside of her left wrist, and she wears a small brass thimble on one finger despite having no use for sewing. The contradictory impression she leaves is of someone delicate who makes bullies feel suddenly, physically unsafe.
“Quiet, measured, and intimate. Amina often pauses before answering, as though sorting several possible truths.”

Distinguishing Features
A brass thimble worn on the index finger of her right hand.
A pale river-shaped birthmark along the inside of her left wrist.
A habit of looking at footwear before faces.
A nearly inaudible intake of breath before every answer.
A laugh that appears during moments when no one else finds anything funny.
Voice
“A low, gentle contralto with a dry rasp at the edges, like cloth pulled across unfinished wood. She sounds calm even when making a threat.”
Clothing
A faded indigo jacket with hidden inner pockets, a cream shirt repaired with red thread, charcoal trousers tucked into soft brown ankle boots, and a green sash tied twice around her waist. The sash contains a narrow strip of hammered tin that clicks softly when she moves too fast.
Body Language
Amina keeps her elbows close, takes up very little space, and rarely turns her back fully on anyone. Her fingers tap silent rhythms against her thigh when she is thinking. When angry, she becomes unnaturally still, with her head slightly tilted and both feet planted beneath her.
