Appearance
Sefa Crumb is a compact, weathered woman with the wiry balance of someone who has spent decades carrying heavy trays across uneven floors. Her skin is warm brown, textured by sun, steam, and flour, with fine pale lines around her knuckles from old kitchen work. She moves with a peculiar side-stepping glide, always favoring her left foot as though avoiding an invisible puddle, yet she can become perfectly still when listening. Her cropped hair is black at the roots and silver at the temples, usually dusted with flour that clings stubbornly to it. The first impression she leaves is of a tired, practical cook. The second is of a locked door.
“Low, crisp, and intimate, with a soft river-quarter accent. Sefa speaks as though every sentence is being overheard by someone important.”

Distinguishing Features
A small brass bell is sewn into the hem of her apron, but it makes no sound when shaken.
She favors her left foot with a quiet, habitual sidestep that becomes startlingly quick when danger appears.
Her palms are permanently dusted with faint white flour lines that soap cannot remove.
She has an unusually precise memory for voices, including the sound of someone's breathing between words.
Voice
“A low contralto with a dry warmth, like a kettle beginning to sing. When angry, she becomes quieter rather than louder.”
Clothing
A charcoal wool dress reinforced with hidden inner pockets, a russet apron marked by old flour stains, soft-soled boots, and a narrow brass key ring worn beneath her collar. Her sleeves are rolled unevenly, one always higher than the other.
Body Language
Sefa keeps one shoulder angled toward the nearest exit and uses her hands constantly, folding napkins, aligning mugs, or wiping an already spotless counter. When someone lies, she stops moving for exactly one breath. When genuinely amused, she leans forward like a conspirator rather than laughing openly.
