Brenna Corvo
Fighter, Battle Master
Brenna Corvo
Species
Human
Appearance
Brenna Corvo is a weathered, physically imposing human woman whose presence makes narrow catwalks feel narrower. Her short-cropped iron-brown hair lies flat against her scalp except for one stubborn lock above her left temple. Her face is cut by a determined jawline, a pale scar through the lower lip, and steady gray eyes that seem to measure every hinge, exit, and handhold in a room. Her lacquered steel breastplate is dark as quenched oil, scuffed at the ribs and polished only where countless workers have gripped it for reassurance. She moves with the deliberate economy of a crane operator, never hurried, never wasting a step, yet capable of explosive violence when someone nears a gear shaft or open counting pit. The unexpected contradiction is her hands: enormous, callused, and scarred from years of fighting, they are also obsessively gentle with damaged clocks, injured birds, and frightened children.
“Her voice is low, clipped, and rasped by years of canal fog and smoke. She wastes no words in an emergency, but when describing a machine or a worker's rights, she becomes precise and unexpectedly eloquent.”

Distinguishing Features
Pale scar running through her lower lip.
Burn scars across her upper back and left shoulder.
A brass whistle from a dead friend worn beneath her breastplate.
Left index finger replaced at the first knuckle by a simple articulated brass prosthetic.
A hooked baton with a worn grip wrapped in blue sailcloth.
Smells faintly of lamp oil, rain-damp canvas, and peppermint salve.
Voice
“A low contralto with a rasp of smoke and metal, controlled even when she is furious. Her rare laughter is a sudden barking sound that surprises everyone, including Brenna.”
Clothing
Dark lacquered steel breastplate over reinforced canvas work clothes, steel-toed boots, fingerless impact gloves, a weatherproof captain's coat, brass utility belt, smoke grenades, manacles, and a red enamel badge bearing the Brasswater Exchange seal.
Body Language
Brenna stands squarely with her weight balanced over both feet, one hand near her baton and the other usually resting on a railing or steel support. She turns her whole body toward whoever speaks, giving them unsettlingly complete attention. When angry, she becomes almost motionless. When worried, her thumb rubs the raised scar at her wrist.
