Tiefling, human ancestry with custom insectile fiend-blooded heritage
Appearance
Mav is a lean, dark-skinned tiefling with four long arms arranged in two staggered pairs, each limb ending in a narrow hand with blunt black nails. Their wrists and ankles have an extra joint, allowing their limbs to fold into compact, insectlike angles before unfolding with unsettling smoothness. Their face is almost gentle, with a broad human nose, tired cheeks, and a small pair of polished mandible plates tucked beneath the jawline. Two swept-back horns resemble the handles of old smithing tools. Their movements are quiet and economical until combat begins, when they unfold into a many-limbed geometry of sudden locks, hooks, and pressure points. The unexpected contradiction is their softness: Mav's hands are warm, careful, and remarkably good at comforting frightened children.

Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal work coat hangs over layered indigo wraps and a sleeveless padded vest. Brass plates protect the shoulders, ribs, knees, and extra joints without restricting movement. Tool loops cover the belt, while four narrow bracers house springs, wire spools, needles, and folded beetle constructs. Their sandals have split soles and hooked ankle braces.
Body Language
At rest, Mav keeps their lower arms folded across the abdomen and their lower legs slightly bent, as though braced against a sudden impact. When curious, they tilt their head and flex each finger in sequence. When threatened, all four hands open at once, revealing tiny tool marks and old burn scars across the palms.
