Appearance
Seshina is a fine-boned human girl with the polished posture of someone raised among portraits and the restless hands of someone who has recently discovered stone. Her skin is sun-warmed and faintly salt-dried from weeks aboard ship, with powdered marble permanently worked into the creases around her knuckles. Her dark hair is cut in an expensive, uneven bob that was clearly done by a bored ship's barber, then arranged each morning with absurd care. She moves quickly but never carelessly, stepping around people as if they are sculptures she does not want to knock over. Her expression alternates between theatrical disdain and startling concentration. The contradictory impression is immediate: she looks like a pampered baron's daughter, but her fingernails are cracked, her palms are callused, and she smells faintly of wet stone.
“Fast, polished, and ornamented with elaborate complaints. She speaks as though every conversation has an audience, but drops into blunt, nearly whispered technical language when discussing art or fear.”

Distinguishing Features
Marble dust permanently whitens the lines of her palms and collects beneath her nails.
She carries seven travel trunks and six hat boxes despite having no practical reason for most of them.
Her left earring is a tiny unfinished clay ear made by her own hand.
She has an unusually precise habit of tilting her head while studying someone's hands.
Her expensive coat has been patched at the elbows with sailcloth in three different colors.
Voice
“A bright, breathy contralto with a faint rasp like silk dragged over stone. Her vowels become longer when she is performing confidence and shorter when she is telling the truth.”
Clothing
She wears a sea-green traveling coat with pearl buttons, a cream blouse with an aggressively high collar, fitted charcoal trousers, and soft deck shoes ruined by stone dust. Her jewelry is expensive but mismatched because she keeps trading pieces for tools and materials. A silk sash holds her spellbook, carving knives, and three little chalk sticks.
Body Language
She keeps her chin lifted and her shoulders angled as though posing for a miniature. Her hands are never still, rubbing thumb against fingertip, measuring invisible planes, or tracing the edge of a table. When sincerely moved, she stops gesturing entirely and leans forward with unnerving stillness.
