Krag Ironspur
Artificer
Krag Ironspur
Species
Mountain Dwarf
Appearance
Krag Ironspur is a broad-shouldered mountain dwarf built like a load-bearing pillar, with a thick salt-and-pepper beard divided into six oil-dark braids. His polished copper safety lenses rest on his brow, their glass scratched by years of flying sparks. Stark, puckered burn scars cross both powerful hands in branching patterns, and his left forearm is visibly reinforced beneath the skin by a brass-and-leather actuator. He walks with a deliberate, slightly uneven rhythm because one knee contains an old replacement gear. Despite his immense, soot-blackened frame and intimidating scowl, he handles delicate instruments with the tenderness of a jeweler. The unexpected contradiction is his immaculate left thumbnail, which he keeps polished because he says every engineer needs one clean surface for inspecting hairline cracks.
“Krag speaks in short, weighty sentences, usually while looking at a machine rather than the person addressed. He uses precise technical terms when explaining danger and colorful dwarven curses when someone ignores it.”

Voice
“A low, gravelly baritone with a faint metallic rasp, as though every word has passed through a furnace grate. When he shouts across the Machine Hall, his voice cuts through turbine thunder like a hammer striking an anvil.”
Clothing
A heavy soot-stained canvas technician's apron covers a reinforced leather jerkin fitted with copper plates over the ribs and shoulders. His belt carries brass spanners, calipers, wire coils, pressure gauges, sealing paste, chalk, folded maintenance charts, and a heavy ring of master keys. His boots are iron-soled, heat resistant, and scarred by years of climbing service ladders.
Body Language
Krag plants his feet wide and keeps one hand near his hammer or tool belt. When angry, he becomes unnaturally still, with only the fingers of his reinforced hand flexing against one another. When interested, he leans toward machines rather than people. He often tilts his head to listen through walls, and his beard twitches whenever someone lies about technical details.
