Tylro Nalune
Species
Goliath
Appearance
Tylro is a colossal goliath whose presence seems to arrive a moment before the rest of him. His pale skin is mapped with fiery red tattoos that resemble branching lava seams, concentrated around his shoulders, ribs, knuckles, and spine. The ink is not merely decorative. It warms and faintly glows whenever his temper rises. His beard is thick, copper-red, and braided with black iron rings, while his long red hair falls in heavy ropes that move like a banner whenever he turns. His face is broad and weathered, with a flattened nose, deep-set eyes, and a mouth usually held in a careful, almost apologetic line. He stands perfectly still when listening, but every movement afterward is startlingly economical for someone so immense. He takes up doorways, benches, and conversations without meaning to, then visibly folds himself inward when he realizes it. The unexpected contradiction is that his enormous hands are exceptionally gentle, trained to repair tiny prayer bells and mend children's wooden toys.
“Measured and low, with long pauses before emotionally important words. His Giant accent gives Common a heavy, rounded cadence.”

Distinguishing Features
Fiery red tattoos glow beneath his skin like banked coals when he feels anger, shame, or protective instinct.
His beard is braided with iron rings stamped with the names of settlements he failed to protect.
He instinctively ducks beneath ceilings several feet higher than necessary, then looks embarrassed when people notice.
His hands are huge but his fingernails are kept meticulously clean and trimmed for delicate repair work.
He carries himself like someone constantly measuring the amount of fear he causes in others.
Voice
“A deep, warm rumble that can make a crowded hall fall silent without sounding like a threat. When he says someone's name with care, it sounds almost ceremonial. When grief breaks through his control, his voice becomes unexpectedly small.”
Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal wool mantle fastened with a bronze bear clasp, layered over a thick red sash and smoke-stained linen wraps. He wears heavy traveling trousers, iron-soled mountain boots, and a battered cloak stitched from the standards of villages he once conquered. He carries no crown.
Body Language
Tylro keeps his shoulders rounded and his hands open to appear less threatening, though the effort makes him look like a mountain trying to kneel. He watches exits, high ledges, and the hands of strangers before he looks at their faces. When ashamed, he touches the lowest red tattoo on his wrist. When making a promise, he lowers himself until he is eye level with the person receiving it.
