The Silent Horologe
You enter a circular chamber lined with dark brass plates and narrow vertical mirrors. Three life-sized masks stare from the walls: one with sealed eyes, one with exaggerated ears, and one with stitched lips. Beneath each mask, gears turn in different rhythms. The central door is sealed by three concentric rings, and a low vibration travels through the floor like the heartbeat of a sleeping machine. No sound leaves the chamber, yet every movement produces a visible tremor in the dust. A glass case beside the door contains a winding key and a metal card engraved with instructions.
