Mr Jangles' Puzzle: The Merchant's Measure
Beyond the exposed cellar wall of the Brass Lantern stands a great brass door tall enough for a loaded wagon, its surface engraved with three caravans winding toward distant Silverrock. Lamplight glides across a Prince beside a camel, a Trader clutching a map, and a Pilgrim carrying a waterskin. Three shallow bowls project from the stone below them. When Mr Jangles places nine heavy coins on the folding table, each impact rings through the chamber like a tiny bell, and hidden gears answer with patient clicks. The air smells of oil, dust, and old coin. Mr Jangles watches the adventurers with bright glass eyes and the unmistakable expression of someone hoping they make a mistake.
