The Sevenfold Wound

You enter a circular dungeon chamber lined with black limestone and tarnished gold. Seven empty stone sockets face you like missing teeth, while seven bronze plaques lie on a low altar beneath them. Each plaque bears a different abstract figure, and red light pulses beneath the floor in a slow, uneven rhythm. The eastern wall is sealed by an obsidian door carved with seven dark halos. Dust hangs motionless in the air, yet the shallow water in a silver basin trembles whenever anyone approaches the altar.
