The Oath Plaque
Seven names are carved. Six are masks.
Seek not the richest, the fairest, or the boldest.
Seek the one who kept the hearth for those beyond the gate.
When the worthy stone is found, place a hand upon the sun,
and the house shall open to the hand that opened it before.
The Seven Tombstones
I. Maelis Valebright, Lady of the Silver Scale
She weighed every debt beneath the sun,
And gave each oath its measured due.
Her justice held when kingdoms ran,
Her judgment cold, her balance true.
II. Corvin Valebright, Sword of the Dawn
He stood where falling arrows flew,
And broke the charge beneath the light.
No fear could turn his steadfast heart,
No dark could outlast his blade in fight.
III. Selene Valebright, Keeper of Quiet Hours
She listened while the grieving spoke,
And kept the lamps through winter's breath.
Her patience made the silence kind,
Her calm stood watch beside the dead.
IV. Oren Valebright, Lord of the Golden Cup
He filled his halls with feast and song,
And bought rare spices from the sea.
His table shone with wealth and praise,
Yet none ate there without a fee.
V. Edran Valebright, Keeper of the Last Hearth
When winter soldiers barred the road,
And hunger gathered at the wall,
He opened wide the crypt's old door,
And shared the house's stores with all.
VI. Tavia Valebright, Voice of the Crown
She spoke so sweetly kings leaned near,
And turned a quarrel into peace.
Her words could bind a rival's hand,
Her promises won a brief release.
VII. Garran Valebright, Master of the Hunt
He crossed the thorn and trackless snow,
And brought the white hart to the hall.
His name was praised from field to field,
But he never shared the chase with all.
