You enter a circular chamber of black stone and tarnished brass, where seven numbered doors stand beneath a ceiling of interlocking gears. Three clockwork monkeys sit around the room: one covers its eyes, one covers its ears, and one covers its mouth. Their ruby lenses, ivory fingers, and copper jaws twitch in different rhythms. Every few seconds, a hidden hammer taps the floor in a short or long pulse, and one door's red lamp glows in response.
