The Chamber Between Strata
A circular basalt chamber hangs in a hush that feels more like a held breath than silence. Fine gray grit drifts sideways before settling, and a pale stone tooth rests in a floor socket beneath three waist-high controls. A dim amber glow leaks from a sealed alcove in the wall. Every few moments a low bell sounds; the grit lifts, the tooth rises, then both return to their starting places as though the room has quietly changed its mind.
