The Lantern Below
The Lantern Below began as a natural sea cave where Brinewake's first fishers stored nets during storms. A timber front, a second chamber, and a chimney were added over the years, leaving the inn half built and half carved from black coastal stone. Its name comes from the green lantern hung at the cave mouth, which remains lit even when the village is hidden behind rain. Old records claim that the tavern once sheltered a keeper of the Stormcall Weathervane, though no one agrees whether the keeper was a priest, a wizard, or simply a very clever sailor.
