Hook
A harvest treaty is failing, and every broken clause turns one field into a different season.
The Kept World is a round planet where promises have physical weight. A village treaty can move a road, a marriage vow can calm a storm, and a broken royal pledge can turn a border into a maze. Magic is common, but no spell is private: every lasting working needs witnesses, records, or consequences. Merchants, priests, rebels, and rulers argue over who has the right to define a promise while ordinary people survive the changes their leaders set in motion.
