Cinderweaver

The Cinderweaver is a versatile combatant who turns positioning, timing, and controlled bursts of inner heat into battlefield advantages. Rather than committing to one weapon or supernatural tradition, a Cinderweaver adapts to whatever the moment demands: a close-quarters feint, a mid-range disabling shot, a long-range ambush, or a sudden ember-charged repositioning. Emberkin Cinderweavers are especially renowned for shaping their natural warmth into brief flashes, heated trails, and distracting sparks without becoming dependent on fire magic.

Spellcasting & Powers

None. Cinderweaver abilities are martial techniques, tactical instincts, controlled Emberkin physiology, and practical battlefield craft rather than spellcasting.

Multiclassing

To multiclass into Cinderweaver, meet the campaign's standard martial or combat-training prerequisite and have access to at least one trained combat skill. When multiclassing out, Embers gained from Cinderweaver levels remain usable only for Cinderweaver features. If the system uses proficiency scaling, apply the standard scaling of the character's primary class rather than adding it twice.

Proficiencies

Trained with all ordinary weapons, improvised weapons, light and medium armor, shields if the setting permits them, and one practical field specialty such as scouting, crafting, survival, or deception. The class is not required to use weapons, armor, or magic.

Training & Initiation

Most Cinderweavers begin with a practical discipline such as scouting, hunting, caravan defense, arena combat, or emergency rescue. Initiation usually involves a Trial of Three Distances: the student must protect a target across a changing route while using a close attack, a mid-range maneuver, and a long-range solution without relying on a single weapon. Emberkin initiates are taught to breathe through heat, release sparks safely, and stop their inner fire before it becomes destructive.

Societal Perception

Ordinary people often see Cinderweavers as capable protectors, traveling performers, or suspiciously talented mercenaries. Their flexibility makes them difficult to classify: some communities admire their restraint, while authorities distrust anyone who can fight effectively with nearly anything.
