Solmara

The Solmara is a radiant hybrid warrior who unites human adaptability with High Elf arcane precision. Solmaras channel heat through steel, spellwork, and their own bodies, shifting between weapon forms while building dangerous thermal momentum. They can fight in the front line, strike from mid-range, or shape fire, sunlight, lava, and protective warmth. Their mechanical niche is flexible battlefield control: they mark enemies with Cinder Seals, spend Ember to enhance attacks and powers, and convert incoming danger into radiant counterattacks.

Multiclassing

To multiclass into Solmara, a character should have Might, Agility, or Presence 13 or higher and training with at least one martial weapon. When multiclassing out, Ember capacity and Solmara path features progress only with Solmara levels. Weapon Forms can be used with any class, but Thermal Flourish requires at least one Solmara level.

Proficiencies

Light armor, medium armor, shields, simple weapons, martial weapons, one additional weapon group, Heat powers, and two trained skills. Solmaras may use Presence or Agility for Heat power attacks.

Training & Initiation

A candidate must master one human discipline of practical combat and one High Elf discipline of formal arcane control. Initiation culminates in the Tempering: the student holds a weapon over a sacred flame, volcanic vent, or concentrated sunbeam while reciting two contradictory oaths. If the candidate survives without losing control, their first Cinder Seal appears. Training usually takes three to seven years, though rare prodigies awaken spontaneously during extreme danger.

Societal Perception

Most communities view Solmaras with a mix of admiration and caution. Humans often see them as daring protectors, while High Elves may regard them as unconventional or politically significant. In volcanic regions they are respected professionals; in places scarred by fire, they may be blamed for disasters they did not cause.
