Cherub Patron

A Cherub Patron grants power through a celestial intermediary: a winged guardian, divine messenger, or bright-eyed herald of a higher power. Cherub warlocks protect allies through flashes of radiant intervention, redirect danger with supernatural warnings, and turn spoken promises into shields of living light. Their magic is not quiet or passive; it arrives as a sudden flutter of wings, a ringing note, or a small hand reaching through the veil at exactly the right moment.

Multiclassing

A character must have a Charisma score of 13 or higher to multiclass into or out of Warlock. This subclass grants no additional multiclassing requirements.

Proficiencies

Armor: Light armor. Weapons: Simple weapons. Tools: None. Saving Throws: Wisdom and Charisma. Skills: Choose two from Arcana, Deception, History, Intimidation, Investigation, Nature, Religion, and Persuasion. The subclass additionally grants proficiency in Insight or Persuasion at level 3 and proficiency or expertise in Perception at level 10.

Training & Initiation

Most Cherub warlocks begin with a moment of urgent compassion: shielding a stranger, delivering a warning, or refusing to abandon someone doomed by ordinary means. The prospective warlock then encounters a cherub patron in a dream, reflection, burst of feathers, or impossible shaft of light. The pact is sealed by accepting a charge rather than demanding a gift: protect a person, carry a message, expose a danger, or preserve a choice. Formal orders may teach celestial etiquette and protective magic, but the patron ultimately decides whether the pact is genuine.

Societal Perception

Ordinary people often welcome Cherub warlocks as protectors, healers, and reliable messengers, though some distrust their habit of speaking for unseen powers. In regions scarred by false prophets, a Cherub warlock may be treated as a potential cult leader until their actions prove otherwise.
