Spellcasting & Powers

You are a full Sorcerer spellcaster. Your subclass features enhance Sorcerer spells and use your Sorcery Points. Charisma is your spellcasting ability, and your spell save DC and spell attack modifier follow the Sorcerer class rules.

Scorching Ray Multiple solar flares streak toward one or more targets.
Shatter A violent pressure collapse mimics the shockwave of a stellar rupture.
Misty Step You briefly collapse into sparks and reappear elsewhere.
Darkness A pocket of lightless space surrounds the chosen area.

3rd-Level Spells

Fireball A classic compressed sunburst that detonates across a wide area.
Lightning Bolt A straight-line discharge like a star’s magnetic lash.
Fly You ride a personal gravitational field through the air.
Pulse Wave A forceful spatial shock pushes creatures and objects from a point.

4th-Level Spells

Wall of Fire A standing curtain of stellar plasma denies an area to enemies.
Otiluke’s Resilient Sphere A sealed gravity bubble protects a creature from the surrounding cosmos.
Blight Corrosive stellar decay drains vitality from a living target.
Dimension Door You leap across space in a flash of compressed radiance.

5th-Level Spells

Flame Strike A pillar of celestial fire descends from above.
Cone of Cold A burst of cosmic cold evokes the death of a star.
Wall of Force A transparent gravitational boundary divides the battlefield.
Teleportation Circle A stable stellar gate connects distant points through folded space.

Multiclassing

A character needs Charisma 13 or higher to multiclass into or out of Sorcerer. This subclass grants no additional multiclassing requirements. Its features rely on Sorcery Points, Charisma, and Sorcerer spells.

Proficiencies

No additional weapon, armor, tool, or saving throw proficiencies. You retain the Sorcerer’s spellcasting, Metamagic, and other class training.

Training & Initiation

Supernova Sorcery usually awakens during a moment of extreme pressure: a magical impact, eclipse, near-death experience, or encounter with an impossible celestial phenomenon. Formal practitioners train by studying astronomy, controlled detonations, and meditation techniques that compress emotional power into stable stellar cores. Initiates must eventually survive a ritual called the First Flash, in which they release a small supernova inside a warded chamber without losing control of their identity.

Societal Perception

Ordinary people often regard Supernova Sorcerers with a mixture of reverence and fear. They may be welcomed as protectors during wars or disasters, but many communities place strict limits on where such Sorcerers may practice magic. Children often view them as living heroes, while rulers worry they are one emotional crisis away from becoming a catastrophe.
