They specialize in extracting endangered allies, redirecting harm, and turning their Threshold Servitor into a mobile rescue beacon. A Waywarden rarely wins by standing still; they win by ensuring that the right creature is always one step away from disaster.

Teleport Enables large-scale relocation to a known safe destination.

Multiclassing

A Waywarden follows the Blinkbinder multiclassing rules. Intelligence is essential for the subclass's saving throw DCs and spellcasting, while Dexterity can improve Armor Class and initiative. The subclass grants no additional weapon, armor, or skill proficiencies.

Proficiencies

You retain the Blinkbinder's proficiency with light armor, medium armor, simple weapons, martial weapons that lack the Heavy property, Arcana, and one Blinkbinder skill. Waywardens are additionally trained in evacuation logistics, battlefield mapping, and coordinated movement.

Training & Initiation

A prospective Waywarden apprentices under a veteran Blinkbinder during real emergencies rather than formal classroom exercises. Initiates learn to map safe destinations, calculate carrying limits, recognize panic and injury, and open apertures while under pressure. The final test requires rescuing a living creature from a controlled magical disaster without abandoning the rest of the team.

Societal Perception

Most common people view Waywardens as reassuring but unnerving, like living emergency exits. Soldiers and travelers value them highly, while rulers may fear their ability to bypass walls, prisons, and battle lines. In regions with strict teleportation laws, Waywardens are sometimes treated as potential smugglers or spies.
