The Ashen Sepulcher
Silence reigns where the breath of the living is forbidden.
A sprawling underground burial complex carved from grey granite and choked with the dust of centuries. Faint blue luminescence clings to the walls, illuminating a labyrinth of heavy stone doors and narrow ossuary shelves.
The air is heavy with the scent of dried lilies and cold stone. Low, rhythmic chanting echoes through the vents, and the temperature drops sharply near the deeper vaults. Dim violet light provides low visibility throughout the dungeon.
☠ Threat
Malakor the Reborn, an ancient wight commander, seeks to raise an army of shadows from the remains of his ancestors. His presence saturates the tomb with a soul-chilling aura that prevents natural healing and causes mundane torches to burn with a sickly violet hue. He remains in the deepest chamber, slowly knitting together the spirits of the dead.
History
Built three centuries ago to house the Malakor dynasty, a lineage of warrior-priests dedicated to the god of the dead. After the last scion turned to forbidden necromancy to save his dying daughter, the site was sealed by the local church. Over time, the seals have crumbled, allowing a chill, unnatural wind to blow from the depths of the earth once again.
