Black-Ash Excavation
The air is heavy with the weight of miles of stone and the scent of cold iron.
A sprawling subterranean complex once used to harvest shadow-infused iron, now consumed by the very darkness it sought to unearth. Jagged pillars of obsidian rise from the floors, and the sound of distant, rhythmic hammering echoes through the lightless shafts.
Suffocating humidity, the smell of damp mineral dust and old rot, dim purple bioluminescence from cracked gems, and the constant, low-frequency hum of shifting rock.
☠ Threat
The Malice of Stone, a sentient mass of necrotic crystals and shadow, has fused with the mine's core. It seeks to expand its reach by drawing living souls into the depths, slowly petrifying them into obsidian statues. Every tremor in the mine is its heartbeat, and every shadow-choked corner is an extension of its sightless gaze.
History
Built by the Deep-Axe Clan centuries ago, the Black-Ash Excavation was the primary source of void-iron used for enchanted smithing. After striking a vein of pure primordial entropy, the miners were transformed into crystalline husks or driven mad by whispers. The clan sealed the upper gates, leaving the treasures and the corruption to fester in the deep pressure of the earth.
