Pell's Bone Rooms
Green candles burn without warmth while the walls whisper names no living person remembers.
The crypt lies beneath a collapsed mortuary chapel, its lower halls packed with family tombs, ossuary shelves, and sealed ritual rooms. A forgotten grafting rite has awakened the dead, and every disturbance sends more zombies shambling toward the deepest chambers. Beyond the crypt's hidden puzzle lies an arena where a stolen fragment of divine ambition has drawn a monstrous champion.
Cold, wet air carries the stink of old burial oil, candle soot, and disturbed earth. Water drips somewhere beyond the walls, while loose bones click whenever the dungeon settles. Most chambers are lit by green tallow flames that burn without heat.
☠ Threat
Godrick the Grafted has forced his way into the hidden ritual vault and made the crypt his proving ground. He grafts limbs taken from corpses and animated dead onto his own ruined body, growing stronger with every battle. His influence reaches the upper rooms through whispered commands that drive the zombies into organized attacks and cause old defensive traps to reactivate.
History
The crypt was cut beneath a hill shrine by Ossan Pell, a royal anatomist who sought to preserve warriors after death. His assistants filled the halls with copied prayers, bone catalogues, and sealed grafting chambers. When Pell tried to join a dead saint's relics to a living host, the rite failed, killing everyone below. Centuries later, grave robbers disturbed the apparatus and awakened the unfinished dead.

Corridor Notes
Small iron bells hang from black cords at ankle height. They ring only when undead pass, but their faint chimes can also warn the party of movement nearby.
The walls are marked with shallow tally cuts, most grouped in sets of thirteen. Fresh scratches appear near passages leading toward rooms 11 through 14.
Thin streams of gray water run through carved channels in the floor, carrying teeth, finger bones, and scraps of burial cloth toward deeper chambers.
Several skulls have been mortared into the walls with their jaws forced open. A few whisper fragments of prayers when someone carrying fresh blood passes.
