Chimera Crag

Three heads, one hunger, and a ruin that never forgets.

5 roomsruinsmedium

A jagged limestone ruin perched atop a crumbling cliffside, once a temple to a forgotten chimera deity. Now, the scent of musk and ozone fills the air as warped beasts reclaim the stone.

The air is cold and smells of wet fur and sulfur. Constant low growls echo through the halls, and the lighting is dim, provided only by patches of bioluminescent moss.

☠ Threat

The Mutated Chimera, once the cult's greatest creation, has grown bloated and powerful on the ley line energy beneath the crag. It possesses a primitive cunning and can telepathically command the lesser monstrosities within its domain. Its hunger is insatiable, and it seeks to expand its hunting grounds into the nearby valleys.

History

Centuries ago, a cult of beast-tamers known as the Maw of Chimerae built this sanctuary to breed and worship multi-headed monstrosities. When their rituals went awry, a surge of chaotic energy petrified the priests and left their creations to evolve in isolation. The ruins now serve as a breeding ground for the most savage predators in the region.
