This underground burial site served as the final resting place for the Vane dynasty until a botched necromantic ritual cursed the site. Now, a freezing mist clings to the floor, and the dead do not rest easy.
Sensory details include the rhythmic dripping of water, a persistent metallic taste in the air, and a magical dim light emanating from soul-lanterns.

Lord Valerius Vane, now a powerful Wraith, haunts the deepest chambers of the crypt. His presence drains the warmth from the air, and he commands the ghosts of his ancestors to protect the artifact that anchors his soul to the material plane. He seeks a living host to possess so he can finally leave his stony prison.
History
Generations of the Vane family were interred here with their most prized possessions. Lord Valerius Vane attempted to cheat death by binding his soul to a silver reliquary, but the spell backfired, dragging his family into an eternal state of undeath. The crypt has since been sealed by the local townsfolk to prevent the spread of the corruption.
