Marrow's Grotto
The salt air of the cove carries the dry rattle of a dead king's legacy.
A humid network of limestone tunnels hidden behind dense jungle foliage on a tropical island. These caves serve as the secret rear entrance to a massive cove where the first pirate king's ship remains entombed.
The air is a heavy mix of sea salt, decaying wood, and damp limestone. bioluminescent fungi provide a faint, sickly green glow, while the rhythmic booming of waves against the cove's blocked entrance echoes through the tunnels.
☠ Threat
The restless spirit of Valeros Red Marrow haunts the final chamber, commanding a small legion of salt-cured undead. His magical traps and the animated remains of his crew ensure that any interloper is added to his eternal guard before they can ever set foot on his beached galleon.
History
One hundred years ago, Valeros Red Marrow carved this escape route to ensure he could never be trapped within his own hidden harbor. Fearing his crew might betray him for his legendary hoard, he spent his final months booby-trapping these natural halls. He died here, paranoid and alone, binding his most loyal soldiers to guard the ship through eternity.
