Battlemap
The Weeping Sepulcher
Silence reigns where the dead wait for the call of the void.
A damp and suffocating network of tombs carved into grey slate and lime. Heavy stone doors and the scent of ancient incense define this forgotten labyrinth.
The air is cold enough to see your breath. Walls are slick with condensation that tastes like copper. A low, vibrating hum emanates from the floors, and lighting is provided only by dying torches and pale spirit-fire.
☠ Threat
Kaelen the Bone-Singer, a powerful Wight Lord, has occupied the final sanctuary. He orchestrates the slow animation of the entire crypt to lay siege to the surface world. His presence causes the dead to rise and the living to experience harrowing hallucinations of their own demise.
History
Built during the reign of the Iron Dukes to house the casualties of the Purge of Blackwood. Over centuries, a cabal of necromancers repurposed the site to siphon energy from the lingering sorrow of the interred, eventually falling to their own creations.
Encounter Table
CRA group of clattering skeletons armed with rusted spears and decaying wooden shields.
A silent, malevolent shadow that detaches from the wall to sap the strength of the living.
A many-legged monstrosity with multiple tentacles, attracted by the scent of the ghouls' kills.
Rumours & Whispers
The Weeping Sepulcher was once used as a royal mint before it was cursed by a dying sorcerer.
People who enter the sepulcher never hear their own footsteps; once the silence takes you, you are doomed.
A golden key that opens all doors in the tomb is hidden in the hand of a statue of Silence.
Kaelen the Bone-Singer can only be truly killed if his ribcage is shattered by a hammer made of blessed silver.
