Battlemap
The Sumel Works
Every drop on the brick carries a blue shine, and something drags brass across the stones below.
Beneath the oldest streets lies a disused waterworks built around a sealed purification shrine. Flooded passages, abandoned records, and a spreading alchemical slime now shelter scavengers and a former keeper who has made the sewer his hunting ground.
Cold runoff drips from every ceiling seam, carrying the stink of lamp oil, wet brick, and rotting herbs. Greenish fungus glows in cracks around the channels, while distant sluice gates groan and something sometimes splashes beneath the grates.
☠ Threat
Hadrik Coil, the last keeper, haunts room-5 in a leather mask and corroded brass harness. The cleansing agent he absorbed has swollen his body with translucent slime, granting him unnatural strength and the ability to command lesser oozes. He believes every intruder carries the contamination and intends to drown the city cisterns in purified poison unless stopped.
History
The Sumael Works were built by masons and water-priests to filter springwater before it reached the city. When an alchemical cleansing agent spoiled, the priests sealed the lower reservoir and abandoned the works. Decades later, scavengers reopened the upper rooms, while the last keeper, Hadrik Coil, remained below and gradually changed from a desperate caretaker into a slime-fed warden.

Rumours & Whispers

People who drink from the southern wells dream of bells ringing underwater.

Corridor Notes
Narrow channels run along both walls, filled with knee-deep black water that occasionally bubbles from trapped sewer gas.
A line of faded blue tiles marks the old maintenance route, but several tiles have been pried up to hide small bundles of tools or stolen goods.
Rusty iron rings are set into the walls at regular intervals. Fresh scratches around the lower rings suggest that something has been climbing through the corridors.
A cracked bronze pipe hums softly whenever the shrine in Room 7 is disturbed.
