Dust and ink mingle with the stench of stagnant water.
A partially submerged ruin of an elven archive where scrolls rot in the damp air. The grey stone walls are slick with moss and the echoes of a long-dead librarian's wrath.
The air is cold and humid, smelling strongly of wet paper and peat smoke. Occasional groans from the shifting masonry punctuate the sound of water dripping from the ceiling into dark puddles.

The ghost of Vaelen, the lead archivist, remains bound to the site. He views any living being as a thief and will stop at nothing to protect the illegible remains of his collection. His madness has seeped into the very stones, causing the environment to lash out at intruders.
History
The Scriptorium was built five centuries ago as a repository for regional lore and census records. When the surrounding wetlands expanded, the foundation buckled and the scholars fled, leaving behind a wealth of history and a single stubborn curator who refused to leave his post. Now, it serves as a damp den for scavengers and the lingering dead.
