Greywater Crypt
The dead of Greywater Manor still wait for the tide to turn.
Beneath Greywater Manor lies a forgotten crypt complex built into coastal caves and expanded through generations of secretive family business. Storage chambers, devotional rooms, and a hidden alchemy laboratory now surround a drowned burial vault where the manor's dead are not content to remain still.
Salt wind moans through hidden cracks, carrying the stink of brine, lamp oil, and old embalming herbs. Most chambers are lit by guttering blue candles or weak daylight filtered through dust, while waves boom beneath the floors and unseen water drips through the stone.
☠ Threat
Merrow Greywater, the drowned patriarch, rules the deepest burial vault as a salt-wight bound to the manor by an ancient sea relic. He commands drowned servants, animates family remains, and draws strength from the ritual shrines scattered through the caves. If the relic is not removed or sanctified, every death within Greywater Manor adds another restless spirit to his household.
History
Greywater Manor was raised by Merrow Greywater, a wealthy salvage captain who built secret caves beneath the house to hide contraband and recovered relics. His descendants converted the deepest chambers into a crypt and alchemy lab, using drowned sailors as test subjects. When the family finally vanished, their servants sealed the hidden stairs, leaving the dead, the experiments, and Merrow's curse below.
