The Amber Ossuary
Golden sap bleeds from marble wounds as the forest claims its tithe of bone.
A subterranean elven vault where pristine white marble is slowly being crushed by the massive, pulsing roots of a dying Great Tree. The air is thick with the scent of fermented nectar and damp earth, illuminated by the sickly orange glow of bioluminescent sap.
The sound of heavy, rhythmic thrumming like a giant heart; a dim golden light reflecting off polished marble; the cloying, sweet smell of rotting apples.
☠ Threat
Malethos the Blighted, a high-priest who allowed himself to be absorbed by the tree to save it, only to be driven mad by the rot. He now commands the roots to pull victims down from the surface to feed the tree's insatiable hunger.
History
Built during the elven Golden Age to house the remains of the Solar Dynasty, the Ossuary was a place of pilgrimage until the Mother Tree above contracted a magical blight. As the tree's roots sought sustenance, they broke into the vaults, consuming the remains of the dead and turning the sanctuary into a predatory labyrinth.

A translucent elf that warns the players to flee before vanishing.
Rumours & Whispers
