Crag-Side Bastion
Silence hangs heavy where the war-drums once thundered.
A partially collapsed hill-fort overlooking the trade road, its grey stones now overgrown with thorny vines. Within its echoing halls, a new and savage master has gathered a pack of raiding goblinoids.
The air smells of wet fur and woodsmoke. Flickering torches cast long, dancing shadows against the cracked masonry, and the constant dripping of water provides a rhythmic backdrop to the distant yaps of wolves.
☠ Threat
Warlord Tarkal and his pack of ravenous dire wolves represent the primary threat. Tarkal is a strategic commander who uses the ruin's layout to bottleneck invaders while his trained wolves strike from the shadows. His presence has drawn smaller goblin tribes together, creating a unified raiding force that terrorizes the lowlands.
History
Built centuries ago as a border watchpost for the fallen kingdom of Oakhaven, the bastion fell during the Great Orc Incursion. For decades it remained a hollow shell until Tarkal the Cruel, a bugbear warlord, reclaimed the site to launch raids on nearby merchant caravans. The ruins have been reinforced with crude timber and treacherous pitfalls.
