An ancient, moisture-slicked sanctum buried within the roots of the Earth. Worn silver inlays and heavy stone doors mark a sacred transition from the mundane to the liminal.
The air is heavy with the smell of wet limestone and ancient dust. Constant rhythmic dripping of water echoes through the halls, occasionally joined by the distant scuttle of many-legged insects. Faint bioluminescent fungus provides a dim, pale-green glow in the most humid corners.
☠ Threat
The structural instability caused by the ancient collapse remains the greatest hazard, alongside a massive, alpha-predator Giant Subterranean Lizard that has turned the Mirror Chamber into its nesting ground. These natural cave dwellers have become territorial and aggressive within the narrow, silver-lined confines of the ruin.
History
Built ten millennia ago by the High Wardens of Vaelira, this sanctum was the order's most secluded site for the ritual crossing of boundaries. It served as a place of silent vigil and divine communion until a catastrophic earthquake collapsed the mountain's core. The sudden tectonic shift crushed the site's primary access and trapped the final key-bearer in the threshold of the mirror chamber, leaving the sanctum to the creeping damp and cave-dwelling predators.
