The Silent Cantor's Grave

The silence here is a weight that crushes the living breath from your lungs.

10 roomscryptmedium

A sprawling network of limestone chambers carved into a cliffside, designed to house the remains of a forgotten monastic order. The air is dry and carries the scent of ancient incense and dust.

Flickering blue soul-fire in wall niches, the sound of phantom scratching quills, a constant bone-deep chill, and the smell of old parchment and ozone.

☠ Threat

The Cantor, an undead archivist who has risen as a Wraith. He seeks to add the names of the living to his walls, believing that only in death is a name truly fixed and safe from the chaos of life. His influence causes those within the crypt to slowly lose their voices and their memories of their own identity.

History

Built three centuries ago by the Order of the Eternal Script, a sect dedicated to recording the true names of the dead. They believed that by writing these names on the walls of their crypt, they could prevent the souls from wandering. When the order was purged for heresy, the crypt was sealed, leaving the monks to starve alongside their silent charges.
