Greymuzzle Warren

The yipping of the small and hungry echoes through the damp stone.

11 roomslaireasy

A series of damp, claustrophobic chambers carved beneath a ruined manor house. The walls are lined with scrap metal and crude bone carvings, serving as a fortified home for a scavenging tribe.

The air is humid and smells of wet fur and sharp musk. Torches made of fat-soaked rags cast a flickering orange light against the mud-slicked floors. Occasional sounds of claws scratching stone and high-pitched arguing drift through the dark.

☠ Threat

Skreek the Terrible, a kobold with delusions of draconic grandeur, rules this warren. He believes a smooth river boulder he found is actually a dormant black dragon egg. He forces his tribe to scavenge shiny metal and magical scraps to nourish the stone, and he will violently defend his nursery against any intruders who might disturb the egg's imaginary slumber.

History

Originally a wine cellar for the Vane family manor, the site fell into ruin after a mysterious fire. Three years ago, the Greymuzzle kobolds tunneled up from the depths and claimed the vaults as their new home. They have since reinforced the structure with stolen timber and crude masonry to keep out larger predators and stash their stolen goods from nearby trade roads.
