Beneath the world's skin, a thousand eyes blink in the dark.
A sprawling subterranean metropolis of squalor and steel where goblinoid clans thrive in the darkness. The upper reaches are chaotic slums of refuse, while the lightless depths house the iron-fisted elites and the legendary hoard of the Goblin King.
The air is a humid soup of woodsmoke, wet fur, and rot, accompanied by the constant rhythmic thrumming of distant drums. Light is scarce, provided only by sputtering, oily torches and phosphorescent fungus that stains the walls in sickly greens. The temperature rises the deeper one descends, becoming a stifling, oppressive heat near the King's chambers.

High King Krag-Zul, an ancient goblin of uncanny intellect and longevity, rules with absolute cruelty. He has forged a pact with a shadow-beast, granting him dark sorcery and the ability to command thousands with a whisper. His elite Shadow-Stalker guard ensures that any descent into the warrens without his permission is a death sentence, while his influence extends to every tribe in the region.
History
Founded after the Great Shattering by three goblin chieftains who swore a blood oath to never again serve the taller races. Over centuries, they excavated deeper into the earth, conquering ancient ruins and subduing larger monsters to serve as their heavy labor and shock troops. Under the current King, the warrens have become an impenetrable fortress-city that commands the trade of the Underdark through terror.
