Jaw Rock Lair
Blue light pulses behind the jaw-shaped altar while something below the floor knocks three times.
Jaw Rock Lair is a cramped subterranean den built around an ancient shrine to a predatory earth spirit. Its outer chambers hold stolen books, bedding, offerings, and half-eaten remains, while deeper rooms protect the creature that has made the ruins its nest.
Cold mineral air carries the stink of wet fur, old incense, and lamp oil. Water ticks through cracks in the stone, while distant claws scrape across masonry and blue witchlight pulses behind sealed doors.
☠ Threat
Gorstek, the Tooth Beneath, is a starving earth spirit that has taken the form of a hulking cave beast in room-5. It feeds on blood, fear, and mineral offerings, using its servants to drag captives into the shrine complex. Each hour spent in the dungeon lets it awaken another buried limb, making the final battle more dangerous.
History
The miners of the Bent Tooth Company carved these chambers around a natural cavern called Jaw Rock, where a stone predator was believed to guard rich ore. When the mine collapsed, the miners sealed the shrine and abandoned the tunnels. Decades later, a pack of cave-adapted raiders broke the seals, fed the buried spirit, and became its servants.

Corridor Notes
Small clay teeth have been pressed into the mortar at knee height. Each bears a different crude face, and several have been recently smeared with blood.
Bundles of black hair hang from iron hooks above the floor. They twitch whenever a living creature passes beneath them.
A line of shallow paw prints crosses the dust, ending at a blank wall near Room 5. The prints are fresh even when no creature is nearby.
Faded chalk marks identify safe flagstones, but some have been deliberately altered to point toward pressure plates.
