The Obsidian Maw
The depth of the earth is a hungry throat waiting to swallow the light of the world.
An ancient mithril mine that broke into a pocket of pure gravitational void. The air hums with entropic energy and the walls bleed a thick, oily shadows.
The smell of cold ozone fills the air while a low, rhythmic thumping vibrates the stone floor. Illumination comes only from flickering bioluminescent fungus and violet energy cracks in the ceiling.
☠ Threat
The Nihil-Worm, an elder horror from beyond the stars, has nested in the core of the mine. It slowly consumes the fabric of existence, creating gravity wells and temporal pockets that make navigation lethal. Its presence attracts star-spawn and corrupts all biological life within its radius.
History
Centuries ago, the Star-Seer dwarves mined too deep into a vein of reality-warping obsidian. The resulting breach transformed the workforce into mindless thralls of the Void and pulled the mountain into a state of permanent collapse. Since then, the mine has been a forbidden zone guarded by planar wardens and cosmic horrors.
