Bellcrypt
Blue flames tremble in the clay bells, and one of them whispers your name before you touch it.
Bellcrypt is a buried family crypt beneath a collapsed hill chapel, now occupied by the dead bell-keeper who was sealed below with his unfinished work. Its upper chambers remain accessible to scavengers, but every descent brings stronger necromantic signs and more organized guardians. At the lowest level, a stolen funerary bell is being used to call corpses from forgotten graves.
Cold mineral air carries the smell of wet limestone, old wax, and grave dust. Water ticks through unseen cracks, iron bells groan without being struck, and pale blue corpse-lights flicker in niches along the walls.
☠ Threat
Tegar Keth, the final bell-keeper, now exists as a corpse wrapped in bronze wire and grave cloth. He rings the funerary bell to awaken the dead, steal memories from the living, and rebuild his body from bones carried up from the lower vaults. Each bell rung in the dungeon strengthens him and makes the next room more dangerous.
History
The crypt was built by the Kethran bell-founders, a family who believed a person's final thoughts could be preserved in resonant bronze. Their burial vault became a workshop, then a prison, after the last keeper, Tegar Keth, tried to place his own soul inside the great funerary bell. The chapel above fell, but the sealed chambers remained active below the hill.

Corridor Notes
Shallow niches hold thumb-sized clay bells tied with black thread. Some ring when living creatures pass, while others contain fresh teeth instead of clappers.
A narrow drainage channel runs beside the flagstones, carrying cloudy water toward the lower crypt. Tiny white cave eels sometimes writhe in it.
The walls are marked with tally cuts, each group ending in a crude drawing of an open eye. The newest marks are still wet with reddish mineral seepage.
Broken funeral masks have been mortared into the ceiling, their mouths angled toward the central stair. Several whisper a visitor's name after the visitor has passed.
