The Scorched Hollow
Where the fire of life went out, the ash of death remains.
A sprawling underground burial complex carved into volcanic rock and filled with a thick layer of grey ash. The air is uncomfortably warm and smells of sulfur, with the muffled sounds of shifting stone echoing through the dark.
The air is dry and tastes of soot. Faint blue light flickers from magical braziers, and the only sound is the rhythmic thumping of distant volcanic activity.

The Ashen Prelate, once the cult high priest, has risen as a powerful wight. He draws power from the geothermal heat beneath the crypt, slowly reanimating his followers to launch a campaign of vengeance against the living. His presence fills the dungeon with a soul-chilling heat and a pervasive, choking layer of cursed ash that hampers visibility.
History
Built five centuries ago by the Cinder Cult, this crypt was designed to preserve the physical forms of their fire-worshipping priests. When the nearby volcano erupted, the cultists were trapped inside, suffocating in the very ash they revered. Now, their spirits remain bound to the scorched stones, guarding the treasures they intended to carry into the afterlife.
