The Silent Sepulcher
Every footfall echoes like a heartbeat in the house of the dead.
A sprawling subterranean tomb carved into gray limestone, smelling of ancient dust and stagnant air. Flickering blue foxfire provides the only illumination in its deeper reaches.
The air is freezing and carries the scent of dried lavender and rotting linen. Low, rhythmic chanting can be heard from the walls, and the lighting is provided by dim, magical braziers that pulse with a sickly violet light.
☠ Threat
High Priestess Vaelith, now a powerful Wraith, seeks to expand her legion of undead guardians. She exerts a psychic pull on the weak-willed, drawing them into the crypt to be harvested for soul-energy. Her influence causes the very stone to weep a black, viscous fluid that deadens sound.
History
Built three centuries ago to house the fallen knights of the Order of the Silver Rose. When the Order fell into corruption, the high priestess performed a forbidden ritual to ensure their eternal vigil, binding their souls to their decaying armor. The site has since been avoided by locals who claim the shadows themselves have teeth.
