The Silent Sepulcher of Mournhold
The dead of the Mournhold line do not rest; they wait in the cold dark.
A subterranean network of burial chambers carved into gray slate, smelling of stale incense and wet earth. Narrow stairs descend into lightless halls where the air is unnaturally chilled and heavy with the weight of centuries.
The air is frigid and tastes of dust, with a constant, low-frequency hum vibrating through the floor. Flickering blue torchlight casts long, distorted shadows, and the sound of distant, rhythmic scratching echoes from the walls.
☠ Threat
Lord Valerius, now a powerful Wight, rules the sepulcher with iron-fisted cruelty. He seeks to revive his entire bloodline as an undead legion to reclaim his lost lands. His presence causes the very walls to weep black ichor and can command any undead within the crypt to converge on intruders with chilling efficiency.
History
Built by the Mournhold dynasty two centuries ago to house their lineage, this crypt was once a site of pilgrimage. However, the final heir, Lord Valerius, turned to necromancy to preserve his dying family, cursing the ground and sealing the doors from within. Now, the local villages avoid the site, fearing the restless spirits said to patrol the deeper vaults.

Rumours & Whispers
