Golden candlelight bathes the stone in a warmth the dead can never feel.
An isolated ritual chamber buried deep beneath the silt of the local wetlands. The vault consists of a damp entrance vestibule leading to a grand, circular ceremonial hall and a hidden reliquary.
The air is frigid and tastes of iron and old wax. Countless candelabras cast a steady, unwavering gold light that fails to warm the damp stone. A low, rhythmic thrumming sound vibrates through the floorboards near the central altar.

The Restless Warden, the spectral remains of the High Cantor, remains bound to the central altar. It perceives any entry as a continuation of the ancient raid that killed its brethren. It uses the magical candelabras to track movement, snuffing them out one by one as it hunts intruders, seeking a living host to finally complete the failed ritual of stillness.
History
The vault was constructed by the Order of the Still Heart, a sect of pacifist monks who believed that physical movement distracted from spiritual enlightenment. They sought to bind their greatest masters to this plane through ritual mummification, anchoring their souls to the central stone altar. However, a local warlord's raid centuries ago interrupted the final rites, leaving the spirits in a state of eternal, agonizing suspension between life and the beyond.
