The Vulture Deck
Blue guide-lights lead toward a humming engine while gray scavenger-birds burst from the vents.
This buried fragment of the Separatist warship Malevolence has become a half-functioning death trap beneath a forgotten battlefield. Its battle systems are damaged but not dead, and the ship's surviving droids are attempting to restore the weapon that once destroyed entire fleets.
Cold metal sweats beneath flickering blue guide-lights. Ozone, hydraulic oil, and old blood cling to the air, while distant machinery groans like a wounded beast. Every few minutes, the deck trembles and a distorted battle transmission whispers through the vents.
☠ Threat
Commander Ozhav Kett, a tactical droid rebuilt from fragments of the Malevolence's command core, directs the dungeon's remaining battle droids. Kett believes the war still continues and is restoring the ion generator to fire on an approaching Republic relief fleet. His logic is precise, but damaged memory loops have made him increasingly willing to sacrifice prisoners, scavengers, and his own troops.
History
The Malevolence was built by Separatist engineers to end battles before they began, its ion weapon disabling whole fleets for easy destruction. After the ship was crippled during an attack near the moon Vantoru, its forward hull plunged into the moon's crust. Recovery crews abandoned the wreck when the surviving droids sealed themselves inside and began rebuilding the generator.
Encounter Table
CRA three-droid patrol carries replacement parts toward room 12 and repeats outdated boarding commands.
A flock of gray scavenger-birds nests in the vents and has learned to attack exposed eyes and hands.
A rolling maintenance sphere coated in coolant foam searches for damaged machinery and treats living creatures as obstructions.
A damaged BX commando droid stalks the routes between the prison and treasure vault, collecting weapons from fallen intruders.
Rumours & Whispers
A buried warship beneath the moon still fires at ships that pass overhead.
The wreck's droids have imprisoned scavengers instead of killing them because they are waiting for a commander to return.
A crystal inside the ship sings whenever someone lies about the final battle.
The Malevolence was not destroyed where the Republic says it was. Its heart lies under the crust.
Gray scavenger-birds have begun nesting near old Republic wreckage and flee whenever the underground signal sounds.
Quest Hooks
Quest giver: Tamaso of the Dust Orchard
A nearby settlement has detected a repeating distress signal from beneath the moon's crust. The signal is actually the generator's charging cycle, and the next discharge will destroy a relief convoy.
A sealed crate of Republic medical supplies and a working astromech core
Quest giver: Ibo Renn, survivor of the first salvage team
A scavenger crew entered the wreck and never returned. Their leader left behind a map showing prisoners still alive in the ship's holding cells.
A share of the salvage rights and a compact ion shield emitter
Quest giver: Zsóka Pell, keeper of the cracked conductor shrine
A local shrine keeper believes the ship's power crystal is poisoning the moon's underground springs. She asks the characters to remove it without destroying the chamber.
A blessing that grants advantage on one saving throw against lightning or force damage per day
Corridor Notes
Narrow blue guide-lights blink in sequence along the deck, occasionally pointing toward sealed bulkheads instead of open doors.
Ceiling vents exhale warm, oily air that smells of scorched circuitry. Small gray scavenger-birds nest inside them and burst out when disturbed.
Wall panels display frozen tactical images of Republic ships breaking apart under massive invisible force.
Thin lines of red coolant seep beneath several doors, turning the metal deck slick and reflective.
