Vasku Lodge
Purple beams sweat cold rain, and the scratched faces on the entry plaques all turn toward the locked southern door.
The Purple Lodge is a sealed high elven retreat built from richly dyed wood and pale stone, now warped by a failed preservation ritual. Its entry hall opens toward abandoned holding cells, a scholarly library, and a guarded inner wing where the lodge's last master still defends a secret hoard. The dungeon rewards careful listening, since its doors, roots, and written records all conceal pieces of the same tragedy.
Purple-stained cedar walls gleam beneath pale witchlight, while the air smells of old paper, cedar oil, and rain trapped in stone. Every sound carries strangely: a page turning in the library may be heard in the prisons, and the distant scrape of a blade seems to come from behind the listener. The deeper rooms are colder, with violet frost forming around iron locks.
☠ Threat
Izhren Vask remains alive in the inner chamber, sustained by the lodge's preservation rite and fused with its root-bound wards. He believes the outside world has continued the purge and attacks anyone who enters, using stolen memories to confuse allies and summon spectral copies of the dead. Destroying the archive or severing the root network may end his vigil, but either choice risks releasing the evidence he died to protect.
History
Izhren Vask named the lodge Vasku, an old forest word outsiders later mangled into Purple Lodge after seeing its dyed beams. He built it as a private archive and refuge for witnesses hunted during the Crowned Ash inquiry. When soldiers found the trail, Izhren sealed the lodge with a preservation rite, freezing its wards, prisoners, records, and himself in one desperate night.

Corridor Notes
Thin purple roots have pushed through the mortar, their leaves opening whenever a living creature passes. Each leaf bears a tiny silver vein shaped like an eye.
Portrait plaques line the passage toward Room 4. The faces have been carefully scratched away, but each plaque still whispers a different version of the same name when touched.
A line of dark blue candle stubs marks the route from Room 4 toward rooms 5 and 6. Lighting one causes every unlit candle nearby to flare for a heartbeat.
