The Iron Sleet Prison
Where the breath freezes and the soul withers in iron silence.
A monolithic fortress of grey stone carved into a glacial cliffside, serving as a tomb for those the kingdom wishes to forget. The structure is perpetually battered by a supernatural blizzard, coating every surface in a lethal sheen of blue-tinted ice.
The air smells of ozone and dry frost, and a low, mournful whistling of wind through iron bars provides a constant backdrop. Lighting is provided by dim, sputtering blue torches that emit more cold than light. The ground is treacherously slippery, and breath mists thick in the air.
☠ Threat
Warden Valerius, a Wight Lord of immense cruelty, who believes the war he was commissioned for is still raging. He commands a legion of Frozen Dead (Zombies and Skeletons with cold immunity) and has pacts with Ice Mephits that spy through the prison's many ventilation grates. His presence drains the warmth from any room he occupies.
History
Built during the Age of Cinders to house political dissidents and war-mages, the prison was abandoned when a blizzard of necrotic origin froze the guards and prisoners alike. Now, the Warden persists as a restless spirit, maintaining his post over a silent, frozen population of the damned. The magic that once powered the heaters has soured, turning the air itself into a weapon against the living.
