Temple of Tablet Seven

The basin's reflection turns a heartbeat after you do, and the seventh candle burns with blue salt fire.

5 roomstemplemedium

Temple of Tablet Seven was built around a buried stone that the priests believed recorded every oath spoken in the valley. Its surviving chambers are small, orderly, and unnervingly clean, while something beneath the sanctuary still listens for promises. The entrance opens onto four branches, with the sealed sanctum beyond the shrines.

Cold, damp air carries the smell of wet limestone, old incense, and extinguished lamp oil. Thin blue light leaks from salt-crusted ceiling cracks, while distant bells tremble without being struck and every footstep seems to receive a delayed answer.

☠ Threat

The main threat is Hesh, called Keeper Seven on the oldest brass plaques, a vow-spirit bound beneath the sanctuary. Hesh has learned to animate the temple's dead attendants and now seeks a living oath strong enough to break its prison. It whispers through bells, reflections, and borrowed voices, offering guidance that always contains one fatal condition.

History

The temple was raised by the Order of the Seventh Tablet after a military survey found a black stone beneath the hill. Its builders numbered every chamber for tax and supply records, then used the shrine as a courthouse where oaths settled disputes. When the priests discovered the stone answered spoken vows, they sealed it below the high sanctuary and erased its older name.
