The Sallow Crypts
The air is thick with the scent of old dust and the silence of the long-dead.
A subterranean network of burial chambers carved into damp limestone. Its halls are lined with the alcoves of a forgotten dynasty, now stirring with a restless, malevolent energy.
The air is freezing and smells of damp earth and ozone. Faint, rhythmic scraping sounds echo from the darkness, and the light of torches seems to dim as if being consumed by the shadows.
☠ Threat
The Wight-King Kaelos, an undead monarch who failed to achieve lichdom and now exists in a state of eternal, hateful hunger. He seeks to drag the living into his service, slowly expanding his necrotic influence beyond the crypt walls to raise a new kingdom of bone and shadow.
History
Built three centuries ago to house the remains of the Sallow Dynasty, this crypt was once a site of holy pilgrimage. After the last king, Kaelos, attempted a forbidden ritual to bypass death, the sanctum was cursed. The priests fled, sealing the entrance, but the corruption within has continued to grow, seeped into the very stone.
