Bitterroot Grotto
The air is thick with the stench of wet fur and the rhythmic sharpening of crude blades.
A natural cave system characterized by damp limestone walls and jagged stalactites. Recently, a tribe of goblins has fortified the interior, turning ancient shrines into a chaotic encampment.
The caves are cool and humid with a constant sound of dripping water and distant goblin bickering. Lighting is provided by sporadic, smoky oil torches that cast long, dancing shadows against the rough stone.
☠ Threat
Griblik the Grasping, a paranoid goblin boss, rules the grotto with a heavy hand. He is obsessed with finding a legendary 'Sunstone' rumored to be hidden in the shrines and has forced his tribe to dig frantically, causing unstable ceilings and frayed nerves throughout the cave.
History
Long before the goblins arrived, the grotto was a site of pilgrimage for a forgotten earth-sect. They carved ornate shrines into the stone to honor the subterranean depths. Decades of abandonment allowed the Splintered Tooth goblin tribe to move in, defacing the history with filth and violence.
