Iron-Vein Grotto
The echo of picks never truly fades from the deep.
A series of jagged excavations and repurposed shrines carved into a rich iron deposit. The tunnels are reinforced with rotting timber and stained with industrial runoff.
The air is heavy with the smell of wet iron and sulfur. Distant, rhythmic thumping echoes through the shafts, accompanied by the occasional trickle of loose gravel from the ceiling.
☠ Threat
A Corrupted Earth Elemental known as the Slag-Heart has fused with the mine's machinery and the ancient shrine energies. It seeks to consume all metal brought into the depths to expand its rocky, metallic form, and its presence causes tremors that threaten to collapse the tunnels.
History
Originally a prosperous dwarf-run mine, the Iron-Vein Grotto was abandoned when the miners broke into a series of ancient, pre-dwarven shrines. The miners were either driven out or corrupted by the entities slumbering in the depths, leaving the shafts to be reclaimed by subterranean scavengers and the lingering spirits of the shrines.
